Welcome to part two of this two-part series in which we discuss how you can craft the perfect Mulligan’s Beach House Bar & Grill meal for you and yours, as the title no doubt gave away. In part one, we took the opportunity to highlight a few of our favorite seafood and landfood dishes that we offer on our menu. Whether you come to see us in Jensen Beach, Lake Worth, Vero Beach, or any one of our other locations, we’ve got you covered with a wide variety of delicious menu choices that you and the whole family are sure to find something you’ll enjoy. That’s what makes us one of the most popular seafood restaurants in all of Eastern Florida!

Now, we don’t feel like wasting any more time with pleasantries, so let’s dive in, picking up where we left off in highlighting some exceptionally yummy entrees you can find right here at Mulligan’s.

Crafting The Perfect Mulligan’s Meal

We said in our first post and we’ll say it here: We aren’t going to be able to help you whittle your options down to just one choice. Ultimately, that’s too difficult for us, seeing as how we are big fans of everything we have to offer (otherwise, we simply wouldn’t offer it!).

  • Beach House Surf n’ Turf – Get the best of both worlds with our tender and perfectly seasoned 10 oz sirloin steak coupled with the skewer of jumbo blackened shrimp. Feel free to add mashed potatoes, Caribbean rice, or fries for a splendid and complete meal.
  • In terms of fresh seafood, it doesn’t get much better than our two grouper options. First up, with have the Crabby Grouper, which features our grouper filet topped with lobster sauce and is paired with a crab cake that’s pretty much to die for. Our Island Grouper is fresh-caught Florida Grouper that can come blackened or grilled. It’s topped with a unique pineapple salsa we think you’ll love.
  • Key West Crab Cakes – Get two of our homemade lump crab cakes with HOllandaise sauce that is to die for. We add the perfect proportions of lemon juice, egg yolk, butter, salt, and other spices.
  • If you are in the mood for crab legs, we’ve also got you covered with our King Crab Legs. This is a meal for folks with a healthy appetite, as it features 1 lb. of Alaskan Red King Crab legs that are well worth the opening/cracking procedure!
  • Cajun Shrimp Pasta – It’s simple, and it’s glorious. Get tender shrimp in a sauce with a kick.
  • Linguini & Clams – Our tender Northern Middleneck clams are masterfully cooked and come in a white wine garlic sauce. It too, is glorious, and well worth it.

In terms of drinks, we have a selection of autumnal adult beverages we’d like to briefly mention. There’s the Cranberry Margarita, the Cran Apple Mojito, and the Drunkin’ Pumpkin, which features White chocolate Liqueur, Pumpkin, cream, and Pinnacle Vanilla Vodka. Crafting The Perfect Mulligan’s Meal, Part One

First thing’s first: We are thrilled to announce a new Mulligan’s Beach House Bar & Grill location coming in early 2019 to Indian Harbour and Melbourne! Mulligan’s a top-rated, full-service seafood restaurant with locations in Jensen Beach, Vero Beach, Lake Worth, and beyond, is the choice of locals and tourists alike — and for good reason. With incredible waterfront views, a fun and family-friendly atmosphere, and incredible menu choices that feature tasty seafood (and “landfood”) items, Mulligan’s is the perfect place to enjoy the company of your friends while indulging in some deliciousness.

We are true native Floridians as well, which means anyone who walks through our doors can trust that we understand what great seafood and what a great restaurant experience should be like. We use the freshest of ingredients, are committed to exceptional customer service, and all the while we focus on the little details to make sure our patrons have a fantastic experience at Mulligan’s.

Crafting The Perfect Seafood Meal

Now, we might be severely biased when it comes to crafting the perfect seafood meal, but we are of the opinion that Mulligan’s is a great place to come get a great meal whether you are taking your loved one out for a date, having a birthday party with your friends and family, or simply want to catch a happy hour while taking in a glorious waterfront view. Below, we take the time to highlight some of our favorite menu items that happen to also be extremely popular amongst our regulars. If you are looking for some suggestions on what to get the next time you pop into our local seafood restaurant, by all means keep reading!

  • Firecracker Shrimp – Let’s start with a special we have on offer right now — who doesn’t love fresh-caught shrimp? If you are a fan of good things, these firecracker shrimp bring a perfect blend of heat and general scrumptiousness. Perfectly seasoned, not too spicy, and delicious fried breading. Nom nom.
  • In terms of breakfast, it’s tough to beat our breakfast platter, which includes two eggs cooked anyway you like, two sausage patties, two bacon strips, home fries, and toast. As you can tell, we are of the opinion that you shouldn’t have to choose between bacon and sausage, just like you shouldn’t have to choose only one of fries and toast — so we offer both!
  • Another popular breakfast item is our stuffed french toast. It features cinnamon french toast stuffed with a sweet orange cream filling served with fruit on the side. While we are talking about possibly the most delicious breakfast food ever created, we might as well tell you that we also offer Nutella banana french toast, almond cranberry french toast, and of course, traditional french toast which can be served with pineapple, strawberries, and blueberries.
  • If you are less of a french toast gal or guy and more a fan of waffles, we can certainly respect your decision, although we must admit we don’t completely understand it. Even still, you won’t be disappointed, as we offer Belgian waffles topped with powdered sugar, butter, and berries if you want them. On the more savory side, we offer a waffle sandwich melt that features scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, and ham marvelously placed between two waffles. We also have chicken and waffles, which are placed on top of one large Belgian waffle. It’s all pulled together with sausage gravy, although we aren’t opposed to perking it up with some hot sauce, honey, or both!
  • Sticking with the breakfast cuisine, we have a few different sandwiches we feel compelled to highlight. Perhaps chief among them is our lox and bagel sandwich, which boasts delectable smoked salmon with capers and cream cheese. We also have a steak n’ egg bagel sammie, which includes Swiss cheese, onions, and is served on a perfectly toasted bagel. Finally, we’d be remiss if we failed to mention our red yee burger, which is thick, juicy, and comes with cheddar, bacon, and a sunny side egg on top (meaning you can pass it off as a breakfast dish if anyone gives you any trouble).
  • Moving on toward lunchtime, we’ve got a few appetizers that stand out — although it’s all good and worth trying at least once. A couple of fantastic appetizers at Mulligan’s are oh so cheesy fries, Key West conch fritters, and the calypso crab cake. Don’t forget about the seafood trio, however, which is a perfect choice for the whole family with its conch fritters, firecracker shrimp, and mahi fingers.
  • We’ve got some raw bar options for you as well, since we believe we couldn’t very well call ourselves an authentic Floridian seafood restaurant without offering steamed clams. We’ve also got a jumbo shrimp cocktail and smoked fish dip — a house recipe made with local smoked fish, tomatoes, jalapenos, and flatbread crackers!
  • On the lighter side, we’ve got some salads on offer, which include Mulligan’s cobb salad, the beach house garden or caesar, a lovely Asian dragon choice, and, our personal favorite, the chicken gorgonzola salad. Whichever you choose, we are almost sure you’re gonna like it!
  • Whether you are looking for seafood restaurants in Vero Beach, Jensen Beach, or Lake Worth, you need to come on into a Mulligan’s and try our fresh mahi sandwich. It’s served grilled, blackened, or Jerk style. No matter which way you choose, it’s fresh, it’s delicious, and it belongs in your belly.
  • Other great sandwich choices include our tuna melt, chicken in paradise (marinated chicken breast on a toasted ciabatta), or our Philly steak. The latter offers tender steak, onions, melted cheese, mushrooms, and onion rings.


Alright, you may have noticed we haven’t really talked about the seafood dishes we have become well-known for. Well, we put an end to such preposterousness below.

  • Most rationale, eat-meating people enjoy lobster. If you count yourself among this demographic, you should come in to try our lobster melt, lobster roll, lobster taco, or our fantastically popular three-cheese lobster mac. The lobster mac and cheese features cavatappi pasta that has been folded into a three-cheese sauce with perfectly seasoned lobster meat. It’s heaven.
  • In terms of tacos, we’ve got you covered here at Mulligan’s. We do more than seafood-based tacos, but seeing as how we are highlighting our seafood dishes, we simply have to tell you about our baja fish tacos. First off, they are loaded to the brim with blackened mahi, mahi, and secondly they come with cheese, lettuce, pico, and are served with rice. Trust us, they are fantastic.
  • Everyone likes pizza, and because you are on this blog, we assume you like lobster. You can get both at the same time with our lobster pizza, which boasts tender lobster with a lobster sauce, mushrooms, spinach, parmesan, and mozzarella cheese for a balanced and challenging menu selection.
  • Let’s talk about seafood entrees, before we must say goodbye for the purposes of today’s post. We’ve got a fried fish sandwich, a fried seafood platter (with fried fish, shrimp & clams strips with fries and slaw), and a crispy tuna roll among other choices. The rule of thumb here is, you won’t be disappointed. So chow down!

In today’s post, we are going to pick up where we left off in our last post. We have been having a pretty darn good time over here listing off all the facts we could find related to seafood, sea life, fish, Florida, and, in our last post, restaurants. Some Fun Facts About Restaurants

As promised, we will leave you with one or two facts about restaurants to make your day literally as good as you’ve ever had. Well, it’s a possibility, if not a likelihood. Prepare to be amazed!

  • 60 percent of restaurant consumers say they are more likely to go to a restaurant that offers eco-friendly food.
  • The average household in the United Kingdom spends more than 15 pounds (that’s the English currency and we aren’t sure how to make the symbol for them) per week on cafes and restaurants.
  • Let’s talk about human rights, human rights and kebabs. In 2008, a German court determined that having a kebab thrown at you in a restaurant is officially “not a serious violation of human dignity and honor.” We wonder if they made a distinction between a kebab being thrown end over end, like a javelin, or spinning sideways. These things matter, folks.
  • Sometimes, when you attend a restaurant that takes itself fairly seriously, your server might pour a touch of wine in your glass to let you taste it, in order to make sure it meets your lofty standards. You probably already knew that one, though. But did you know that at a very nice restaurant, the server might pour a bit of wine in your glass, swirl it around, let it sit, and then pour it out! No, it’s not because rich people think it’s cool to be wasteful (we think), it’s because high-end places want to make sure any and all residual taste from the washing of the glass has been removed.

It’s no secret we are big fans of facts. More specifically, it’s no secret we are fans of writing blogs that are fact-infused. Our Mulligan’s Beach House Bar & Grill blog space has played host to tidbits about seafood from your local restaurant, facts about sea life by your favorite tropical restaurant, and even a Florida-fact blog back in the day. So what other kind of fact blog could we write? Well, we put our thinking caps on and the only thing that remains is a restaurant-fact blog. After all, we are a full-service seafood restaurant (mini-chain) with locations in Lake Worth, Vero Beach, Jensen Beach, and beyond. We’ve covered the seafood, we’ve covered Florida, so it’s time to open our readers’ worlds to some little-known, potentially surprising facts about restaurants.


Fact Number One: Mulligan’s Is The Best Seafood Restaurant Around

What, you thought we’d bother to blog about restaurants without explaining what makes our own tropical restaurant so great? Clearly, you need to read more blogs written by Mulligan’s Beach House Bar and Grill. So whether you found this blog by searching something like “restaurants in Vero Beach on the water,” “family restaurants,” or kid friendly restaurants in Vero Beach,” you’d be making a great choice in choosing Mulligan’s. We combine delicious seafood (and landfood) with wonderful waterfront views and world-class Floridian service. That’s why both locals and tourists have come to know Mulligan’s as one of the top places around to find an exceptional dining experience!

Alright, no more false starts — here are some other surprising, if not random, facts about restaurants we hope you enjoy.

  • Half of American adults have worked in the restaurant industry at some point in their lives. We all certainly have!
  • ⅓ of Americans got their very first job working in a restaurant!
  • ⅔ of restaurant consumers eat a wider range of ethnic cuisines when compared with their dining habits from half a decade ago. That’s progress, folks.
  • 80 percent of consumers polled believe that going out to eat with family and/or friends is a better use of their leisure time than having to cook and clean up. We, at Mulligan’s, aren’t going to complain about that belief, but we will say there is something to be said for cooking for one another from time to time.
  • If we genuinely want to talk about social progress, and we do so we will, there has been some encouraging social growth in the restaurant-ownership world. African-American owned restaurants jumped by 49 percent between 2007 and 2012, with the percentage of Hispanic-owned restaurant businesses increasing 51 percent over that same time period!
  • The word restaurant, a French word, originally had the meaning of “restoring.” The first restaurant was founded in Paris and served broths as a means of physical healing.
  • It’s a tie between Spain and the United States of America as to who has the most restaurants within the world’s top 50. Both countries boast seven ‘straunts, if you will, on the list.
  • The world’s biggest restaurant, the Bawabet Dimashq Restaurant in Damascus, seats over 6,000 guests. We can’t even conceptualize running a place like that.
  • It was the English who coined the term “restaurant” to refer to a place of eating. Before that, people were less inspired, if not more practical, with their choice of words, calling restaurants simply “eating-houses.”
  • Fancy restaurants, as in restaurants with Michelin Stars, tend to have a different set of norms than others. For example, it’s common practice for multiple waiters to serve an entire party with the same dish at one time, so that no one has to worry about starting first. Plus, it just looks cool when they all come out together. Perhaps it’s something we’ll consider doing at Mulligan’s from time to time…
  • If your restaurant is adequately high-end, your purse or personal bag might just get its own chair, assuming there is room. Now that’s high society, folks!
  • The ability to call yourself a caviar-serving specialist takes longer than going to school to become a doctor, in many cases at least. The people who make caviar are known as Ikrjanschik (we don’t know if that’s plural or not so we are leaving it as is), and are required to undergo an apprenticeship that lasts at least a decade, if not some 15 odd years! Too bad caviar is awful. Amen.
  • While we are still talking about fine dining, Americans who are planning to go to some fancy European restaurants should be informed about cutlery norms. The table will be set properly, meaning you’ll find a series of forks to the left of your plate with some spoons and knives on the right side. An easy rule to follow is to always work from the outside in. When you are done with your cutlery, put it on the plate — never back on the table. If you do this at a nice establishment in Paris, you’ll probably either get kicked out or food poisoning. Not really, but, you do never know with those curious people.
  • Let’s get back to what we all want to talk about — social equality in the restaurant business. The percentage of women-owned restaurant business jumped 40 percent between 2007 and 2012! We at Mulligan’s Beach House Bar & Grill think that’s a pretty neat statistic.
  • The restaurant industry is supposed to add 1.7 million jobs over the next eight or nine years. We should see over 16 million restaurant jobs in the United States of America by 2026.

Facts About Sea Life By Your Favorite Tropical Restaurant!

In our last post, we took the time to highlight a great number of fish facts. The most important one, and the one we hope our loyal readers remember, is that Mulligan’s Beach House Bar & Grill is the best seafood restaurant in southeastern Florida. Sure, we are biased, but we’ve been around since 1997. With tropical restaurant locations in Vero Beach, Jensen Beach, Lake Worth, and a few other communities, we’ve become known as a place where outstanding food meets a great time and a wonderful waterfront atmosphere.

But rather than talk your ear off about what our tropical restaurant does so well, we’ll leave it to you to come and experience it for yourself. After all, we’ve got a promised blog topic to get to, so we might as well start serving up some random facts about sea life that don’t have to do with fish! Keep reading if you are interested in ascertaining some factoids to impress your aquatically inclined romantic interest, or whatever reason you might have for reading a sea life blog! We aren’t here to judge. We are here to talk about sea life, seafood, and why you should come to the best seafood restaurant around!

We digress. Here are some sea life facts.

Facts About Marine Life

  • Let’s start off with an eye-opener: 99 percent of all living space on the planet is made up of the ocean. This makes sense, when you think about it, as all other life needs to live on the land, and land is pretty much two-dimensional.
  • Penguins can swim underwater at speeds up to 25 miles per hour.
  • To lay their eggs, green turtles migrate over 1,400 miles. That’s some dedication.
  • There remains much to be learned about marine life. For example, a recent study of a deep-sea community saw the discovery of almost 900 different species from over 100 families and 12 phyla. The most remarkable thing about this is that the area studied was no more than half the size of a tennis court. Over half of these creatures were totally new to human discovery!
  • There are large giant jellyfish which have tentacles that, if there were to be outstretched, would cover over 30 yards.
  • Sea otters are cute and clever, the latter point being evidenced by the fact that they are known to stash food between rolls of skin. We’ve tried that approach, it didn’t go so well — take it from us, and leave it to the otters.
  • Certain kinds of octopus can have upwards of 2,000 suckers on its arms. Yuck.
  • Male walruses like to make a bell-like noise in order to attract mates. Again, we’ve tried it out so you don’t have to, and again, leave it to the walruses.
  • Colossal Squid do something quite amazing: they digest food with their brains. These giant squids can grow up to be 10 meters in length and can weigh over half a ton!

Yelling fish facts is the best way to climb any social ladder. It’s just a fact of life.

Seafood And Fish Facts

  • Did you know there are more than 30,000 identified species of fish on the planet? Who knows how many unidentified species there might be left to find!
  • Fish have a unique organ that operates much like radar. The “lateral line” is a sense organ which helps them move around in the dark or in opaque water.
  • The largest known fish on record is the great whale shark, which is able to reach up to fifty feet in length!
  • Many kinds of fish have skeletons that are only made of cartilage.
  • The smallest fish in the world is the Philippine goby. When full grown, it is measured at less than ⅓ of an inch in length!
  • Fish have been on the earth for over 450 million years. That’s a while.
  • One kind of fish, the mudskipper, can walk on land. Known as a sort of amphibious species, the adaptable fish uses its pectoral fins to skip across the land. It can even jump two feet in the air if it needs to! How does it do this? It keeps a chamber of water for storage in its gill chambers whenever it takes a land-trek. When it is wet, it’s able to breathe through its pores as well. All in all, sounds like a pretty neat fish if you ask us.
  • If you thought the school you attended was too big, get a load of this: herrings roam in schools that are billions strong. It’s almost too much to believe, we know, but some schools have been estimated at boasting some three billion in number.
  • Ready to get grossed out? No? We don’t care, sorry, because the Atlantic hagfish can secrete so much slime that it will fill your average-sized milk jug. The hagfish’s body is covered with glands that secrete a sticky slime, which is thought to be some kind of defense mechanism, although scientists aren’t entirely sure about the specifics.
  • Ready for a slightly cute, if not surprising fact? Whales have belly buttons! That’s right, whales are mammals, just like us, and as such, they give birth to live young. This means there is an umbilical cord involved. Dolphins have belly buttons too, just so you know.
  • The fastest moving fish in the world is the sailfish. They have been clocked at moving up to 68 mph, making them able to cover the length of a football field in less than five seconds!
  • The slowest moving fish in the world is without a doubt the dwarf seahorse. It moves at .001 mph. For reference, it takes an hour to move five feet. That means it would take around 72 hours to move the length of a football field.
  • Fish are one of the six identified groups of animals. The others are birds, mammals, amphibians, reptiles, and amphibians. However, their unique composition, specifically regarding their fins and aquatic environment, make them a group unlike any other.
  • Greenland sharks are known to be the oldest-living fish species. Researchers studied 28 Greenland sharks in a study published in 2016. Most of these sharks lived to be a minimum of 272 years, with some getting all the way up to 512 years old!
  • The fish with the shortest lifespan is the pygmy goby, a reef-dwelling species of fish that only lives a couple of months, on average.
  • The world’s deepest-living fish is the snailfish, which is native to the Pacific Ocean. This fish lives at a depth of 26,722 feet.
  • There are more than a couple animals that are commonly referred to as “fish” which are not fish at all. Among them are jellyfish, crayfish, starfish, shellfish, and cuttlefish.
  • Buddhism maintains that fish symbolizes contentment and happiness due to their complete freedom of movement.
  • Only sharks are known to have eyelids.
  • This one is a bit surprising, even to us — many fish have taste buds all over their body.
  • Fish sleep, but they don’t sleep like humans do. They lower their response to stimuli, their metabolism, while slowing all physical activity. Unlike humans, they don’t change their brain waves (from alpha to delta, in case you were wondering).
  • Regarding communication, fish use a wide variety of low-pitched noises to communicate with one another. They can hiss, creek, wail, grunt, croak, or even rattle their bones in order to interact. They even vibrate muscles against their swim bladder, if the mood should strike!

Whether you are familiar with our local seafood restaurants or not, you could probably take a wild guess and figure that we are decidedly passionate about our seafood here at Mulligan’s Beach House Bar & Grill. But if you’ve ever read one of our blog posts, or indeed, have come to one of our Mulligan’s tropical restaurant locations, you’ll know that our enthusiasm for a high-quality meal, with seafood as its centerpiece, goes more into the realm of certifiably obsessive than anything else.

We’ve offered up seafood recipes and methods to select and prepare crab along with our other blog posts of the past. We’ve taken to the habit of highlighting some of our favorite recreational activities in areas that are close to our seafood restaurant locations in Jensen Beach, Lake Worth, Vero Beach, and beyond. But today, we are going to keep the conversation dialed-in on what folks can look forward to when dining at Mulligan’s.   • Chicken & Waffles – A southern classic; crispy chicken on top of a large Belgian waffle topped with sausage gravy
  • Casino Sandwich – Try this scrambled egg with your choice of sausage, bacon or ham with melted cheese on a toasted ciabatta roll.
  • Steak n’ Egg Bagel – Sliced steak, scrambled eggs, Swiss cheese & onions served on a toasted Bagel. You might need to take a nap after this one — fair warning!
  • Sunrise Omelette – Spinach, tomatoes, mushrooms, and Swiss cheese topped with Hollandaise sauce. The flavor combination is subtle yet delectable.

Breakfast For Seafood Lovers

  • Lox & Bagel – A classic done the right way; smoked salmon with capers and cream cheese.
  • Monster Fish & Chips – Our Famous Fish & Chips is great any time of the day! Get the fried white fish with fries and vinegar that you’ve been craving!
  • Crab Cake Benedict – Are you a fan of Jumbo Lump Crab? Have you never tried Jumbo Lump Crab? It doesn’t matter. Just try it the next time you come in. We don’t skimp on the crab, either.
  • Smoked Salmon Benedict – One of our most popular benedicts, we offer smoked salmon on a classic benedict. It’s great.


After you ordered one (or two) of the breakfast dishes listed above, you’ll probably either need to take a walk or a nap. Luckily, each Mulligan’s Beach House Bar & Grill location is wonderfully complemented by its waterfront surroundings. Whether you want to enjoy the water at Vero Beach or Lake Worth, many guests prefer to take a short jaunt along the water after they’ve put the work in at the meal table.   • Firecracker Shrimp – If you like a bit of kick to go along with your seafood, our bread shrimp will talk back with a whole lot of attitude! And right now you can get our Firecracker Shrimp, Wings, Flatbreads, Nachos, Margherita Pizza, for half-off during Mulligan’s Happy Hour! In case you were wondering, our Happy Hour is from 3-6pm, every day!
  • Key West Conch Fritters – We’ve mentioned them before in previous blogs and we’ll probably highlight them again down the road. Get tender queen conch in a herb batter, fried to a golden brown and served with our renowned Cajun remoulade. If you’ve never tried tender queen conch, now’s the time.
  • Seafood Trio – One of our most widely-liked appetizer selections, it’s tough to wrong with the Seafood Trio. Get our famous conch fritters, Mahi fingers, and our sizzlin’ Firecracker Shrimp to boot!
  • Mussels aren’t for everybody, although we aren’t quite sure why. Try our tender mussels, bathed in an exquisite tomato wine sauce. You can add pasta for an additional charge if you are feeling like mussels should be more of an entree and less of a starter.
  • Spinach Artichoke Dip – Our house recipe served with tortilla chips. It’s tough to go wrong with spinach artichoke dip at any restaurant, but when you let the master chefs at Mulligan’s whip you up their own version, it’s a starter that’s well worth your time.
  • Drunken Onion Rings – Beer battered onion rings with Cajun remoulade. What’s not to like?

Lunch Menu Items

  • Asian Dragon Salad – We offer our Asian Dragon Salad for folks who are looking for something on the lighter side yet don’t want to sacrifice any degree of flavor. Complete with breaded Firecracker Shrimp, Mandarin oranges, sesame seeds, rice, noodles, and salad all topped with a sesame ginger vinaigrette, this is a great change of pace to help make sure you don’t feel the need to nap for the second time in one day!
  • Fresh Mahi Sandwich – You know Mahi, you like Mahi. When you get our Fresh Mahi Sandwich, you can get one served grilled, blackened, or Jerk-style!
  • Ham Slam – A toasted hoagie roll with ham and topped with 100% cheddar cheese sauce. Delicious.
  • Lobster Taco – While we have a Lobster Melt, Lobster Roll, and even a Three Cheese Lobster Mac option, we would recommend starting with the Lobster Taco. It’s a lobster-filled grilled tortilla with sour cream, pico, lettuce, cheese, and served with rice. It brings out everything you like about lobster in a subtle way. Yum.
    Baja Fish Tacos – Our Baja Fish Tacos are loaded with blackened Mahi Mahi, cheese, lettuce and pico de gallo served with rice. You can substitute with chicken for an additional charge.
  • Lobster Pizza – What, you thought we were done talking about Lobster dishes? This is Mulligan’s — one of the top family-friendly seafood restaurants in the entire state of Florida. So if you’ve never tried our Lobster Pizza, all we can say is that you definitely should. Get tender lobster with a unique lobster-based sauce alongside spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, parmesan, and mozzarella cheeses. It’s worth making the trip down to Florida in its own right!


You have a great time at lunch, but three-quarters of the way through your meal, you get afraid you are going to sink through your chair because you are getting so full. While this is certainly understandable, all we can tell you is to BUCK UP — you’ve got a Mulligan’s dinner to look forward to. So take a nap, go on a bike ride, swim in the ocean, watch NYPD Blue reruns — do whatever you need to do to get ready for a fantastic Floridian seafood dinner at Mulligan’s. Below are one or two of our favorite entrees that we offer.

  • Fried Grouper Sandwich – Yes, a sandwich can be had for dinner, especially when it tastes as unbelievable as our Fried Grouper Sandwich! Get perfectly seasoned and fried grouper on a toasted kaiser roll. On the side, you’ll get some house chips for the ideal complementary crunch.
  • Crispy Tuna Roll – Our fried tuna roll features a fried Thai-ginger wrap with Ahi tuna & vegetables served rare with Asian slaw & wasabi cream. It’s perfectly spiced, so give it a try.
  • Beach House Surf N Turf – Get our masterfully-grilled 10 oz. top sirloin steak (ask for it with bleu cheese and bacon) along with a skewer of jumbo blackened shrimp. It’s a flavor-combo you won’t soon forget. Choose from French fries, Caribbean rice, or mashed potatoes as your side.
  • Island Grouper – No, we aren’t serving avid fans of Bob Marley as a dish, but we are serving Fresh Florida Grouper topped with house-made pineapple salsa! Try it grilled or blackened.
  • Linguini & Clams – Try tender Northern Middleneck clams bathed in a white wine garlic sauce. As is the case with all of our seafood, pasta, steaks and other entrees, this dish is served with soup, house salad, or our caesar salad.

Libation Recommendations

We wouldn’t be very good at what we do if we failed to mention a few of our most popular adult beverages. Though we are certainly a kid-friendly restaurant, what party isn’t made better without a few libations!?

  • Sauvignon Blanc, Oyster Bay, New Zealand
  • Key Lime Martini – Dessert in a glass. Svedka Vanilla Vodka & key lime liqueur
  • Garden Fresh Mojito – The original, fresh limes & mint mixed with Bacardi Superior Rum. Add a flavor for an additional charge, choice of peach, strawberry, coconut, mango or raspberry.
  • Hurricane George Cocktail – Named after Mulligan’s fearless owner, the one and only George Hart!    This Mulligan’s cocktail packs a punch with Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum yet goes down smooth and puts a smile on your face!
  • Coastal Coladas – Coconut, pineapple & Cruzan Rum. Choice of original coconut, strawberry, mango, banana or raspberry. Whichever you pick, you are probably going to order another. That’s just the way it goes!

The Wonderful Benefits Of Seafood

Necessary Nutrients

Unless you’ve been living under a rock the past few years, there’s a good chance that you’ve already heard about the astounding effects of Omega-3 fatty acids, which can help build strong bones and improve overall joint health. We’ll highlight the fatty acids in their own section, we are simply mentioning fatty acids because it seems like an inordinate amount of attention is given to this point, while there are plenty other nutritional benefits that aren’t getting their fair share of the limelight.

And while it’s difficult, and flat-out wrong, to say that all of these forthcoming vitamins can be found in each fish, we’ll point out some of the most commonly found nutrients. Among them are B-complex vitamins, vitamin B, and vitamin D. If you are unfamiliar with B-complex vitamins, those are the ones like B12, B3, biotin, etc. B-complex vitamins are helpful in a variety of ways, among them being energy production, general skin health, concentration, blood and nervous system development, and metabolism.

Other fish, such as salmon, are prime opportunities to get your vitamin A. Vitamin A is also helpful in a wide range of ways — aiding the reproductive system, immune system, vision, and beyond. Vitamin D, which you can find in salmon, helps build strong bones and teeth because it helps your body absorb calcium. So try salmon and milk together sometime! Well, not together together — we aren’t suggesting you make a salmon milkshake or anything. Just make sure you help your calcium absorption along with a little vitamin D from time to time. That’s all.

Other fish types are rich in iodine, zinc, phosphorus, and potassium, which are all essential vitamins in their own right.  

Protein Intake

Though health fads fade in and out of popularity among the general public, there’s no longer any debate revolving around how much we need protein. Not that it was ever too much of a debate, but the jury is decidedly in about how indispensable an ample amount of protein in our diet really is. While it might be a challenge for plant-based individuals to make sure they get enough protein each day, you don’t have that problem if you are a fan of seafood. It’s an ideal source of lean protein in the same way that chicken is.

Chicken is great and all, but there is only one kind of chicken…chicken. Fish, on the other hand, includes white fish, salmon, catfish, pike, cod, shark, swordfish, trout, mackerel, perch…we think you get the point. But even if you aren’t a big fan of fish, you’ve probably never tried them all! If you don’t like the “fishy” smell-factor that goes into eating certain kinds of fish, we recommend you try Mahi Mahi sometime. Be like Kevin James says in the hit CBS sitcom The King of Queens when he just discovered a fish that tastes like meat, you’ll soon become an avid fish foodie!

Omega-3 Fatty Acids

We said it was coming, and we also mentioned that you probably are familiar with some of the benefits of Omega-3 fatty acids. But here’s your refresher, just in case; Omega-3s, which are found in shellfish, oily fish, and non-oily fish alike, are essential nutrients that perform a wide range of essential functions in our body. This kind of polyunsaturated fat cannot be produced by our body, which means finding them in seafood is a great idea. Known to be a significant “building block” of the brain, Omega-3s impact heart health, vision health, and heart health. Research also shows that regular intake of Omega-3 fatty acids diminishes the risk of contracting Macular Disease. In fact, the MD Foundation tells folks to regularly eat fish to make sure people are getting enough Omega-3s. We agree! And, lest we forget, these fatty acids have been shown to reduce symptoms of arthritis and ease aching joints as well.

With regards to heart health, Omega-3 fatty acids have been studied to show they regular consumption can dramatically reduce the risk of cardiovascular trauma taking place. Events like heart attacks, strokes, and even arrhythmias can be reduced by getting a requisite amount of Omega-3s. While some folks get their daily intake from supplements, research shows that eating seafood for Omega-3 fatty acids is a superior way to go.

Low Fat

While it isn’t the 90s and the world isn’t obsessed with everything and anything being “low fat” (see Seinfeld’s episode about low fat frozen yogurt), most of us Americans should take every chance we get to reduce our daily intake of unhealthy fats. Seafood averages under 2 percent fat, making it less fatty than the leanest meat, including chicken. The other plus is that you don’t need to trim any fat away, like you might with a NY strip of steak. All you have to do is bake, grill, steam, fry, or come into your local Mulligan’s seafood restaurant, and you are ready to go!
